KIDNEY TRANSPLANT FUND RAISING AHMAD HAFIZUDDIN

The purpose of this fund is to raise RM300,000 to finance the kidney transplant for Hafiz in China as soon as possible.(donation also will be used for hafiz's medical purposes and anything that suitable to his current condition needs for his well being towards a better future)

Background of Hafiz

Ahmad Hafizuddin, aged 25 years, from Kuala Terengganu,Terengganu. He is unemployed.He would like to continue his studies after the transplant when his health condition getting better.

Kidney disease (End Stage Renal Disease)

Hafiz was diagnosed with damaged kidneys (End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)) in 2007. The cause of kidney disease is unknown and could not be identified as it was discovered at a late stage.

Current Treatment

Now he has to undergo Haemodialysis treatment (blood cleaning) 3 times a week. He will have to depend on this treatment until the end of his life unless he undergoes a kidney transplant. Haemodialysis treatments cannot provide satisfactory level of health.  Various health complications such as heart problems, lung, and others will occur.  The doctor also informed that the kidney transplant is better done as soon as possible because his physical is still strong and damages done to the body due to the failed kidneys is still minimal. The disease has so far caused other complications that limit his movement and undermine his physical well-being.

Problems of kidney transplant in Malaysia

Efforts to find a suitable donor from among family members has been conducted, unfortunately was not successful.  Meanwhile the queue for the kidney transfer waiting list in Malaysia takes a long time (l0 -12 years).
